In summer of 2003 I wrote this thinking that Deering Oaks could be our Central Park. We just needed to get rid of those roads slicing through it and build around edges to make a room of it. The Postal distribution center was going to move to Auburn or somewhere and I thought we could convert that into some sort of public museum like science.
